Big Brothers Big Sisters Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER

m/Oppenheim Associates is assisting Big Brothers Big Sister of Greater Los Angeles (BBBSLA) in the search for a new Chief Operating Officer. For more information, please review the complete Position Description.

BBBSLA seeks a professional to oversee the organization’s mentoring programs, administrative support and financial controls.  The Chief Operating Officer will report to the CEO, who will focus on fundraising, marketing/communications, advocacy, Board relations and the organization’s growth strategy.  A primary responsibility of the COO will be to drive the evolution of programs, services and infrastructure.  A style that is highly collaborative, non-political and respectful of the competencies and responsibilities of other team members is also critical to success.

BBBSLA has provided enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring for Los Angeles County children & youth ages 6-18, since its founding in 1955 by Walt Disney and Meredith Willson.  Poverty and other traumatic experiences can present very real obstacles to a child’s development, and the BBBSLA mentorship of children by Big Brothers and Big Sisters can dramatically change the life trajectory of children and youth in need, leading to young people who are happier, healthier and better equipped for success.
