CHIEF PHILANTHROPY OFFICER
m/Oppenheim Associates is assisting the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund in the search for a new Chief Philanthropy Officer (CPO). Operating throughout San Francisco, the Peninsula, Marin and Sonoma Counties, the Federation is the leading network for Jewish progress and community building. The CPO will be located at the Federation’s San Francisco headquarters and will manage an organization with 36 staff members responsible for systematically engaging new generations of donor-investors, increasing commitments from current donors, and delivering best-in-class advisory services to Jewish philanthropists and the nonprofits they support.
The CPO will report to the CEO and work closely with Board members and senior staff to:
- Increase individual and group accountability for driving fundraising results and increasing contributed revenue on an annual basis;
- Forge closer relationships with new generations of donors, especially among the region’s tech and finance entrepreneurs interested in innovative approaches to Jewish philanthropic engagement;
- Improve philanthropic advisory services that help donor-investors to maximize return on their philanthropic investments, so that the Federation is viewed as a logical coordinating point for donor interactions with other advisors, Jewish communal organizations and diverse nonprofit leaders and organizations;
- Implement a more systematic approach to optimizing total contributions over decades in ways that advance Jewish values and causes.
In service to these goals, the CPO and slots real senior department leaders will evolve the philanthropy group’s organization, workflows, talent pool, and infrastructure, while providing the best possible donor experience.
