Menlo Park, CA
Vice President of Philanthropy
LifeMoves seeks an experienced Vice President of Philanthropy who brings a track record of developing relationships and partnerships that significantly increase revenue. As part of the search process we are reaching out to the community for suggestions and nominations.
As a solution-oriented, nimble and innovative nonprofit, LifeMoves offers people experiencing homelessness a temporary place to call home while providing intensive, customized case management to help adults and families return to stable housing and achieve long-term self-sufficiency. LifeMoves operates 26 shelter and service sites from Daly City to San Jose, and 86% of families who have engaged in LifeMoves programs return to stable housing.
LifeMoves has a pipeline of bold projects designed to drive transformative impact. In 2020, LifeMoves received funding from Project Homekey which enabled the organization to rapidly develop LifeMoves Mountain View , a 100-unit modern, dignified, safe interim housing solution that offers a private unit for each household with case management and support services designed to return people to stability. This model is easily replicable in any community and LifeMoves is aggressively pursing several development opportunities. The Vice President of Philanthropy is critical to this success. The VP will focus their energies on raising six- and seven-figure gifts, new business/relationship development, cultivating new principal gift pipelines, and working collaboratively and strategically across LifeMoves to ensure that the CEO, board, task forces, and other subject matter experts are leveraged for their expertise and connections.
LifeMoves operating budget has nearly doubled in the last four years to its current $50M, of which 40% comes from contributed philanthropic support. The complete position description may be found here.
