National CORE seeks a highly experienced, financially astute property management executive with a commitment to providing high quality, affordable housing to low income families and seniors that have supportive service needs, to oversee a portfolio of properties in CA, TX, FL and AR, and help drive new affordable housing projects. A nonprofit affordable housing development organization, National CORE creates healthy communities that thrive and prosper, supporting families and seniors by providing affordable, safe, quality housing combined with supportive services and hospitable environments for economic activity. The organization enhances neighborhood stability through long-term management and maintenance, and shapes industry-leading services such as senior wellness, preschool and afterschool programs, and family self sufficiency through its Hope through Housing Foundation (HOPE).
Reporting to the COO, working closely with other members of the executive team and staff, the Senior Vice President (SVP) will be responsible for all aspects of property management and maintenance. Property Management includes 9 Regional Managers to whom each are assigned 8-15 leasing, community and assistant managers. Property Maintenance includes oversight of capital projects and all maintenance functions. Supervised by a Vice President, this area is staffed by 5 Resident Services Managers, with each assigned 15-20 staff. In addition, there is a high degree of coordination between the roughly 200 National CORE property management personnel, and Hope through Housing. HOPE manages between 50 and 100 on-site service personnel in various communities.
This position requires a hands-on manager to personally grapple with and resolve issues in real time, a person that values strong accountability, recognizes and rewards excellence. The new SVP should have strong experience in setting up reporting systems that foster transparency and accountability, that reveal both productivity gaps and excellent performance. The ideal candidate will also have experience in highly complex financial environments that require close monitoring and knowledge of controlling, reporting and accounting disciplines is a real advantage; this position involves close financial management.
