SOUTHWEST REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Reporting to the CEO of NPH USA in Chicago, the Southwest Regional Director will be located in Scottsdale, AZ and will be responsible for raising funds in Arizona, California, and five other states in the region. The SW Director is part of the senior management team, participates in long-range strategic planning for NPH USA, prepares annual operating plans and budgets, and personally drives fundraising results through direct solicitations and by supporting the direct solicitations of staff and volunteers. The Southwest (SW) region has four staff supported by the Chicago headquarters, covers the seven states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas and Utah, and raises $2.4m to support NPH International, with roughly 60% coming from donors in AZ, 30% from CA, and about 10% from NM and TX. The organization’s 2015 objective is to raise $2.6m in the SW Region, position the region for expansion, and target principal gifts above $100k.   
 
NPH was founded in the mid-1950’s as Nuestros Pequeños Hermanos, Spanish for “Our Little Brothers and Sisters,” by Father William Wasson, an American Catholic Priest. Today, over 3,700 children annually are supported in loving, secure environments through NPH homes in Haiti, Guatemala, Nicaragua, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, Peru and Bolivia, and at St. Damien, the largest pediatric hospital of the Caribbean area that also delivers programs for disabled individuals. NPH USA was founded in 1965 to raise funding and other support for NPH International, and is comprised of 5 regions, each with a Regional Director who manages a small staff of development professionals.
