The Board of Directors seeks an arts management entrepreneur to leverage Ballet Arizona’s creative and financial resources to:

  • Deliver the very best environment for artists to produce and present classical and contemporary Ballet, and for audiences to experience the art of classical and contemporary Ballet;
  • Drive increased audience engagement with particular emphasis on young and diverse audiences whose active embrace is critical to the future vitality of classical and contemporary Ballet; and
  • Implement an aggressive contributed and earned revenue program for the Southwest’s premier professional ballet company.

Ballet Arizona was founded in 1986 and since 2000 has been under the direction of internationally acclaimed Artistic Director and Choreographer Ib Andersen, the former principal dancer for the legendary George Balanchine and the New York City Ballet. The current annual operating budget is about $8M, with a yearly revenue mix of about 42% earned, 39% contributed, and 19% school tuition. The current value of the Ballet’s endowment is approximately $7.5M.
