New York, NY
Strategic Engagement Director
The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens seeks a New York-based Strategic Engagement Director to solicit individual and institutional funders. Please click to view the full position description or to nominate/apply.
The Centre empowers and supports changemakers, particularly young women in the developing world, whose goals align to those set forth in two signature achievements during Ban Ki-moon’s tenure as the Secretary General of the United Nations, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Paris Climate Agreement. Based in Vienna and New York City, and with strong connections to Seoul, the Ban Ki-moon Centre was established in 2018 and is co-chaired by the 8th Secretary-General of the United Nations Ban Ki-moon, who served between 2007 and 2016; and by the 11th President of the Republic of Austria Heinz Fischer, who served between 2004 and 2016.
The Strategic Engagement Director reports to CEO Monika Froehler based in Vienna, and works across the organization (and beyond the organization) with staff, Board members, partners, grantees and community constituents internationally. This person will also oversee the delivery of a high-touch stewardship and donor recognition program and will interact regularly with major donors. She/he/they will help to create and sustain strong, ongoing and congenial relationships centered in the USA (particularly in regions where donors with international interests are located).
This is a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves fundraising position. The Director will be a senior solution-sales fundraising professional who represents young changemakers and their projects, and who considers how to leverage every program, grantee, partner, staff and Board member in ways that help Centre fundraising. There is intense focus on direct solicitation and leveraging others to directly solicit.
We appreciate you sharing the position description with your network, and also any nominations you might have.
