EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

The organization seeks an Executive Director to diversify the organization’s revenue model, elevate the profile of the organization, provide for day-to-day management, and orchestrate delivery of continually refreshed programs and services for the seniors in the community. Peninsula Volunteers, Inc. (PVI) and Peninsula Volunteer Properties, Inc. (PVP) provides quality programs and support for seniors as they pursue long and meaningful lives with dignity, purpose, independence and a sense of usefulness. PVI was founded almost 70 years ago by a group of forward-thinking women. From modest programs run out of the aptly named “Little House,” committed volunteers determined the needs of seniors and established programs to help them. Today, the staff, board members, Peninsula Volunteers and community volunteers provide diverse services to thousands of seniors.

The Executive Director is responsible for ensuring that PVI and PVP deliver quality programs and services. S/he is responsible for strengthening earned and contributed revenue streams, and managing the PVI staff who are responsible for running PVI’s daily operations and finances; coordinating fund development activities; and coordinating the activities of community volunteers. The Executive Director works with the President and the Board to establish a mutual understanding of PVI’s mission, values, and short- and long-term strategic plans. The Executive Director collaborates with the Board in setting strategies for fund development and provides the Board with the information necessary for the Board’s role in organizational oversight and governance.  

The Executive Director will be an experienced nonprofit leader with strong financial, management and business acumen, an accomplished fundraiser and fund development strategist, a thoughtful and skilled communicator whom people trust and want to follow, and a visible and positive force within the community to ensure that at PVI maintains a reputation for service and programmatic excellence, and community cooperation and collaboration.
